This splendid view is about three-quarters of a mile down my road, a route I walk almost daily.  I painted this enchanting scene en plein air, or outdoors.

I was somewhat surprised to find pink crape myrtle growing amidst the loblolly pines and live oaks. What a joy!

In the Romantic Impressionist style, I pushed the pinks and magentas to convey my connection to the landscape as well as the fact that pink crape myrtles had colored the air a soft magenta.

This paintings is 20 x 16, acrylic fingerpainting on canvas and the price is $325.00.
